McGinley October Student Leader - Justin Holley
October Student Leader
My name is Justin Holley.  I'm the student leader for October.  The reason that I chose to be student leader is to show kids that you don't have to be scared to talk in front of your peers.  You can be confident.  The way that I do it is that I just imagine that I'm trying to talk to myself or teach myself.  Sometimes I just ask myself, "Why don't I chicken out?" or "Why don't I walk away afraid?"  I stay strong because I want to show my peers that you can be strong in your words and actions, without hurting someone.
Some kids just hang around other kids to be cool.  I believe that I'm cool in my own way.  I have my own little unique part about me that nobody has.  Being your own person means that you are setting your own goals, being independent, letting people recognize you for who you are.  If you follow others, no one will know the real you.
