Internet and Network Acceptable Use Policy

Internet and Network Acceptable Use Regulations/Procedures
  1. All use of the District's Internet/Network must be in support of education and research and consistent with the purposes of the Willingboro Public School District.
  2. Any use of the District's Internet/Network for commercial or for-profit purposes is prohibited.
  3. Any use of the District's Internet/Network for personal and private business is prohibited.
  4. Any use of the District's Internet/Network for product advertisement or political lobbying is prohibited.
  5. The authorized owner of the Internet and Network accounts is the Willingboro Public Schools, and can be used only for authorized purposes. Network accounts are to be accessed only by a district authorized designee.
  6. User shall not intentionally seek information on, obtain copies of, or modify files, other data, or passwords belonging to other users, or misrepresent other users on the District's Internet/Network.
  7. All communication and information accessed via the District's Internet/Network should be assumed to be the property of the Willingboro School District.
  8. Use of the District's Internet/Network shall not serve to disrupt the use of the Network by others; hardware or software shall not be destroyed, modified, or abused in any way.
  9. Malicious use of the District's Internet/Network to develop programs that harass other users or infiltrate a computer or computing system and/or damage the software components of a computer or computing system is prohibited.
  10. Hate mail, harassment, discriminatory remarks and other antisocial behaviors are prohibited on the District's Internet/Network.
  11. The illegal or unauthorized installation of unapproved software for use on district computers is prohibited. Approval is to be obtained through the Office of the Director of Technology.
  12. Use of the District's Internet/Network to access or process pornographic material, inappropriate text files, or files dangerous to the integrity of the local area network (Lan) or wide area network (Wan) is prohibited.
  13. The Director of Technology will make determinations on whether specific uses of the District's Internet/Network are consistent with the Acceptable Use Regulations/Procedures.

The District's Internet/Network are public agency facilities. When using them, all information entered on these District's Internet/Networks will be accessible by the public. Willingboro Public Schools reserves the right to log Internet use and to monitor fileserver space and content. Willingboro Public Schools reserves the right to remove and/or disconnect user accounts on the District's Internet/Network to prevent further unauthorized activity. Willingboro Public Schools reserves the right to disconnect school accounts to prevent further unauthorized activity.

Anyone found to be in violation of this Acceptable Use Regulations/Procedures may lose their access privilege and will be subject to the Willingboro School District Discipline Regulations and/or appropriate legal action.
