Attendance Policy

District Policy File: 5110.3

Adopted: 6/27/05

The Board of Education supports the concept that attendance at school is of utmost importance. The Board of Education also believes that students should arrive to school on time to gain the full value of the educational experience.

The Board of Education believes it is the responsibility of the student and parent to assure that the student arrives to school on time. It also understands that there may be unusual circumstances that occasionally arise in the home that may prevent the student from arriving to school on time. Excessive lateness shows a lack of responsibility toward the educational process. Lateness to school deprives the student from receiving necessary instruction and may set a negative tone for the learning process that day.
