Prescription Coverage

WBOE prescription coverage is contracted through a private division of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield.  The plan designs match the state Rx coverage and are paired with the medical selections.  NJ Direct 10 and 15 plans are offered Standard Coverage and members enrolled in the Educators Health Plan will have EHP Rx coverage.

Please be advised that if you are a full-time WBOE employee and are not enrolled in the district-sponsored medical and prescription coverage, please complete the medical benefits waiver form and return it to the WBOE Human Resources Office by 10/31/2021. The next waiver reimbursement check will be issued in January 2022 and takes into consideration the months of waived coverage from July through December 2021. Having this documentation on file ensures proper reimbursement amounts are being issued. If you have eligible dependents that you are also waiving coverage for, please include the requested information on this form. Eligible submissions received after 10/31/2021 will be paid out in June 2022.

As a reminder, employees must waive medical and Rx coverage for one year before being eligible for the waiver reimbursement program.

Employees covered by NJ-sponsored health plans are not eligible for monetary reimbursement.

Updated waiver forms will be due annually.

If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Colona, the District's Benefits Specialist via email at ccolona@wboe.net.
