PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Ever since Willingboro High School was built in the 1970s, there has been a rich history of graduates from Willingboro making a difference in our community and across the nation. The many alumni who once walked these halls have built a legacy that can rival any school here in New Jersey. This history is the basis of our theme this year: ā€œBuilding a Legacy One Student at a Timeā€.

Our theme is a reminder that each and every student is important and has the potential to make a difference in the world. We are committed to providing our students with the best possible education so that they can go on to achieve great things. Our faculty and staff are committed to preserving and continuing this legacy as we prepare our students for college and career. To accomplish this goal, we are focusing on three pillars of success:

  • Academic excellence: We will continue to offer rigorous academic programs that prepare students for college and careers. We will also focus on providing students with the support they need to succeed, including tutoring, academic advising, and mental health support.

  • Social-emotional development: We believe that students learn best when they feel safe and supported. We will work to create a positive school climate where students feel respected and valued. We will also focus on teaching students important social-emotional skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.

  • Community engagement: We believe that schools are strongest when they have the support of their communities. We will work to partner with parents, businesses, and other community organizations to provide students with the resources they need to succeed.

To accomplish this, we are implementing two programs this year:

  • Leader in Me: Leader in Me will focus on helping students learn the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, so that they can make positive choices that will help them succeed. It will also work to develop our students as leaders both within the school and in the greater community.

  • Renaissance: Our Renaissance program is designed to reward student attendance, behavior, and academic effort. Students who are recognized as a part of the Renaissance program will have access to various events, activities, and other rewards to thank them for their efforts both inside and outside of the classroom.

We are also working to build parent involvement through our PTSA and Parent Involvement Committees, so that our parents and greater community can continue to be a part of this legacy.

We are proud of our school community and all that we have accomplished together. We look forward to continuing to build on our legacy one student at a time.
