The school library media centers exist to prepare students to become effective and efficient users of resources, ideas, information, and other intellectual properties. The school library media center is the information center for the school. The opportunities presented by the school library media center represent the diversity of the community and the school.
This mission is accomplished by:
Providing knowledgeable and physical access to materials.
Working to foster competence and to stimulate interest in reading, viewing and using information and ideas to become life-long learners.
Sharing with other educators, ideas to design strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
Assuring that the print collection reflects the curriculum as well as the recreational needs of the students. Researching online and reference databases as well as Internet access to support the curriculum.
