Dear Parents and Caregivers,

In celebration of Black History Month, W.R. James Sr. Elementary School is proud to present our annual Blacks in Wax event. This special program provides our 4th-grade students with the opportunity to honor influential African American leaders, trailblazers, and change-makers who have made lasting contributions to history, culture, science, the arts, and civil rights.

Through this interactive experience, students will bring history to life by portraying notable figures and sharing what they have learned. This event supports cultural awareness, research skills, public speaking, and a deeper appreciation of Black history and excellence.
