Dear Families of JA Cotten Intermediate and Twin Hills Elementary School,

We are writing to inform you of an important facilities update that impacts the front entrance of our shared school campus. During a recent inspection, it was determined that the awning at the front of the building requires urgent repair to ensure the continued safety of our students, staff, and visitors.

Effective immediately, and continuing after Fall break through January,  the front doors of the building will be temporarily closed while repairs are completed. During this time, all students, staff, and visitors will enter and exit through the side double doors accessible from the larger parking lot. This entry point will be clearly marked with signage reading “Entrance.”

We understand that this message comes without prior notice, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please know that this decision was made out of an abundance of caution—the safety and security of our students and staff remain our top priority.

Our teams are working closely with district facilities staff and contractors to complete the repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible. We will make every effort to ensure that this temporary change runs smoothly and has minimal impact on the instructional day, arrival and dismissal procedures, or other school operations. Twin Hills will enter from the A-Wing Side near the Municipal/Post Office Parking Lot and JA Cotten will utilize the employee parking lot side door for entrance.

We appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued partnership as we address this matter. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school’s main office. Updates will be shared as soon as new information becomes available.

Thank you for your ongoing support in keeping our school community safe and strong.

In Partnership,

Marti Hill-Parker
