Greetings Garfield Families!
As we open our doors and begin another exciting school year, we would like to share a few important updates to help make our first day a smooth and successful one.
🍎 BREAKFAST INFORMATION
Beginning Friday, September 4th, breakfast will be served to ALL scholars.
Breakfast doors open: 8:20 AM
Breakfast will be served: 8:20–8:50 AM
Scholars will be dismissed from the cafeteria at 8:50 AM and will report to class to begin their school day.
Scholars who are NOT attending breakfast should arrive at 8:50 AM.
⏰ FIRST DAY DISMISSAL
Tomorrow is a half day.
Student dismissal/pick-up time: 1:30 PM
🎨 SCHOLAR IDENTIFICATION
If your scholar has not yet received their lanyard and ID card, no worries! Scholars can be identified by their grade-level colors:
🟢 Pre-K: Green
🟡 Kindergarten: Yellow
🟡 1st Grade: Yellow
⚪ 2nd Grade: Red
⚪ 3rd Grade: Red
⚪ Support Staff: Gray
Our teachers will also be wearing handheld name tags to help families identify staff members.
📍 MORNING ARRIVAL LOCATIONS
Kindergarten & 1st Grade
➡️ Report to the blacktop/basketball court
2nd Grade
➡️ Report to the front of the building, left side
3rd Grade
➡️ Report to the front of the building, right side, by Door #2
🚗 PARKING LOT REMINDERS
We are asking all parents and guardians to please be patient and mindful in the parking lot.
For everyone's safety:
🚫 No vehicles are permitted in the bus lane.
🚫Double parking is not permitted.
✅ Please use the available parking spaces toward the
entrance of the parking lot.
We want to ensure that every scholar, family, and staff member arrives safely and that our first day begins with excitement, patience, and positivity.
