Comic Con Flyer

Memorial Middle School is excited to announce our first annual Comic Con event on May 4th! This event is open to all students interested in comic book art, graphic design, virtual reality, and gaming. With various activities planned throughout the day, there's sure to be something for everyone to enjoy. Please view the following details on the Comic-Con website here.

For students interested in learning more about comic book and manga art, Ms. Loftus in Room 505 will be hosting a Comic Art 101 workshop during the 1st and 4th periods. With a capacity of 20 students, this workshop will teach students how to create authentic comic books and manga art.

If you're interested in graphic design, head over to the library during 2nd period for Ms. Ismail's Creating Comics in Canva workshop. With a capacity of 20 students, this workshop will teach you basic graphic design skills and how to create a simple comic book strip using Canva.

For Marvel fans, Ms. Johnson in Room 415 will host a Marvel Trivia contest during 2nd period. With a capacity of 20 students, this contest will test your knowledge of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and offer super prizes to the winners.

If virtual reality is more your thing, head over to Mr. Myrie's classroom (Room 304) during 3rd period for a Virtual Reality Flight Simulation. With a capacity of 8 students, this workshop will give you an opportunity to experience flight in air and space using an Oculus headset.

For gamers, Mr. Simicich and Ms. Kiser will host a Nintendo Switch Party in the Library Resource Center during the 5th period. With a capacity of 30 students, this party will allow you to battle against your peers in your favorite Nintendo Switch games. Please note that students must bring their own games.

Finally, there will be a How To Fly A Drone workshop for students interested in drone technology during the 4th and 5th periods. With a capacity of 15 students, this workshop will be hosted by Edward Ward of Drone Tech Navigators Academy, Ms. Wright, and Mr. Myrie in Rooms 102 and 103. This workshop will provide basic training on navigating a drone in an obstacle course.

With so many great workshops and activities planned throughout the day, it's sure to be a fun and memorable experience for everyone involved.
