Memorial Families,

We want to begin by extending a huge thank you to Ms. Ismail, our School Librarian Media Specialist, for her hard work in putting together the 1st Annual Comic-Con event at Memorial Middle School. This event would not have been possible without her dedication and passion for promoting literacy and creativity through comic books, graphic novels, and other related mediums.

We would also like to express our gratitude to all the teachers and staff who participated in the event by doing workshops and dressing up. Their contributions and enthusiasm helped make this event a success and brought smiles to the faces of all involved.

The workshops offered throughout the day were a huge hit with the students. Ms. Loftus' Comic Art 101, Ms. Ismail's Creating Comics in Canva, and Ms. Johnson's Marvel Trivia contests were all filled, with students eagerly participating and learning new skills.

The Virtual Reality Flight Simulation offered by Mr. Myrie was also extremely popular, with students lining up for a chance to experience flight in air and space. Similarly, the How to Fly a Drone workshop by Edward Ward of Drone Tech Navigators Academy was a big hit, with students gaining new skills and learning about drone technology.

The Nintendo Switch Party hosted by Mr. Simicich and Ms. Kiser was another popular event, with students bringing their games and battling it out with their peers.

Overall, the 1st Annual Comic-Con event was a huge success that brought together students, teachers, and staff to celebrate creativity, literacy, and fun. We hope to continue this tradition in the years to come, and we look forward to seeing even more smiles and enthusiasm from our school community. Thank you again to everyone involved for making this event a memorable one!

Sincerely,

Memorial Administration
