PD Day

We believe that when our staff grows together, our students benefit the most. To kick off the year, our teachers and staff engaged in two powerful days of professional development designed to set the tone for the year ahead.

On day one, we focused on setting norms for our students. Memorial is a space that heals, not harms, and to live up to that vision, we know it’s essential that we’re united as a team. Together, we began an ongoing conversation around our instructional priorities and what exemplar classrooms should look and feel like. At the heart of this work is a commitment to ensuring every Memorial student has access to high-quality instruction and improved outcomes.

Day two brought us the opportunity to learn from Dr. Daniel Truelove. Through a deep dive into our DISC profiles, values, and traits assessments, we uncovered how our communication styles impact both our teamwork and our classrooms. We laughed, reflected, and grew together as we explored ways to better understand one another and, most importantly, how to best view and nurture the unique genius of our students.

We left these two days energized, aligned, and excited to carry this work into the school year—because when our staff is at its best, our students shine brightest!
